A Voice for Australian Share Drivers
In today's Age and syndicated across all of Fairfax Regional Media the news story "Uber: Ambiguous advice to UberX drivers following GST deadline" was a first for Share Drive Australia. Thanks in part to our social media campaign, journalists are finally sitting up and taking notice of #sharedrivers issues.
Today The Age and SMH reporter Lucy Battersby got in touch with SDA via Twitter for an interview with yours truly. Not bad for an interest group that did not exist 18 days ago. Shows what we can do when we unite! Keeping things in perspective, it's just another small step and the road ahead is long. But we are on the move. Comments below:
"Amanda Morris, founder of new drivers' association Share Drivers Australia, said Uber had not increased fares to compensate drivers for the GST payments and many people were finding the GST obligations and recent fare reductions made ride-sharing unprofitable."
