Letter Writing Tips

 

  • Don't assume your point is obvious, they won't read between the lines so SPELL IT OUT and spell out the consequences as you see them

  • Keep the language unemotional, respectful and factual

  • Make sure you only concern the letter recipient with laws they can effect, ie don't write to the Tax Commissioner about state driving laws

  • Catch flies with honey, not vinegar

  • Follow up for a response if you do not get one within a reasonable time frame

  • Spell check is not enough, proof read or even better get a friend to help.

  • Time is of the essence, don't delay
